Beach Information: the nearest beaches are Northcott (15 minutes walk), Crooklets and Summer leaze (20 minute walk).  Northcott is a beautiful quiet family beach, unspoilt with a rustic caravan serving cream teas beside the stream, it is good for surfing if there is a swell and amazing rock pools at low tide for the children to play in.  Crooklets is a family beach with cafes and shops on hand, a short walk over the promenade to Summerleaze which is a large sandy beach with sand dunes and a tide pool.

Bude is only 5 minutes or so from the sand to the shops and it has a wide range of amenities including surf shops, cafes, restaurants, bakeries (serving great Cornish Pasties), butchers, toy shops, book shops, chemist, supermarket etc.  There is also a leisure centre with slides, a huge indoor playzone and a bowling alley.
